Job Title: Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) – VARA Scope

Job Description: We are hiring a Money Laundering Reporting Officer with VARA scope. The role requires candidates with prior crypto industry experience and direct exposure to working with VARA-related processes or regulations. This is a specialist compliance role with full MLRO designation for a regulated virtual asset business.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the designated Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for a VARA-regulated virtual asset entity
• Own the AML/CFT compliance framework including KYC, EDD, transaction monitoring, and sanctions screening
• Review, investigate, and file Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to UAE authorities
• Engage with VARA on licensing, compliance reporting, and supervisory matters
• Develop and maintain AML/CFT policies, procedures, and controls in line with the VARA Rulebook
• Lead compliance monitoring and testing, reporting findings to senior management and Board
• Deliver AML/CFT training and awareness programmes for all relevant staff
• Monitor emerging financial crime risks in the virtual asset space and implement proactive controls

Qualifications Needed:

• Prior crypto industry experience required
• Direct exposure to working with VARA-related processes or regulations required
• Proven track record as MLRO or senior AML/compliance officer in a regulated virtual asset or fintech entity
• Deep knowledge of VARA Rulebook and UAE AML/CFT regulatory requirements
• Strong experience with KYC, CDD/EDD, transaction monitoring, and STR filing processes
• Relevant compliance qualifications (CAMS, ICA, or equivalent) strongly preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication for regulatory reporting and Board engagement
