Job Title: Head of Compliance

Job Description: The Head of Compliance will build and lead Thunes’ UAE compliance function — ensuring regulatory compliance with CBUAE, CBUAE PSP regulations, and international AML/CFT standards across Thunes’ Dubai-licensed cross-border payment operations.

Responsibilities:*

  • Lead Thunes’ UAE compliance function — owning regulatory compliance, AML/CFT programmes, and governance frameworks

  • Act as the primary regulatory interface with the Central Bank of the UAE — managing supervisory relationships, compliance reporting, and regulatory engagement

  • Design and implement AML/CFT frameworks including customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and SAR/STR processes

  • Ensure Thunes’ UAE entity complies with all applicable CBUAE requirements for licensed payment service providers

  • Partner with global Thunes Compliance leadership to align UAE compliance with global standards and group policies

  • Lead compliance monitoring, testing, and audit support functions for the UAE entity

  • Manage regulatory change — implementing new CBUAE requirements across Thunes’ UAE operations

  • Provide compliance training and advisory to UAE business and operations teams

Qualifications Needed:

  • Significant experience in a senior compliance or MLRO role within a regulated payments company, fintech, or financial services firm

  • Deep knowledge of CBUAE regulatory frameworks for payment service providers

  • Proven AML/CFT programme design and management experience

  • Experience engaging with CBUAE on regulatory matters and supervisory reviews

  • ICA, ACAMS, or equivalent compliance qualifications preferred

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
