Job Title: Software Engineer (JVM + Blockchain)

Job Description: The Software Engineer will design, build, and maintain high-performance JVM-based backend services integrated with blockchain infrastructure — contributing to Revolut’s expansion of its crypto and digital asset capabilities in the MENA region.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement high-performance backend services using JVM-based languages (Java/Kotlin/Scala) powering Revolut’s crypto and blockchain infrastructure
• Build scalable, reliable integration layers between Revolut’s core banking platform and on-chain blockchain systems
• Contribute to the design and development of crypto transaction processing, wallet management, and DeFi connectivity services
• Collaborate with Product, Compliance, Risk, and Data teams to ensure blockchain services meet regulatory and operational requirements
• Participate in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and code reviews across the engineering team
• Ensure high availability, performance, and observability of production blockchain and crypto services
• Contribute to engineering standards, documentation, and best practices within the Crypto Engineering team

Qualifications Needed:

• Strong experience in backend software engineering with proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or Scala
• Solid understanding of blockchain fundamentals, smart contracts, and on-chain transaction mechanics
• Experience building scalable distributed systems and microservices in production environments
• Familiarity with blockchain protocols (Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, or equivalent) and Web3 tooling
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), containerisation (Kubernetes/Docker), and CI/CD pipelines
• Passion for crypto, digital assets, and blockchain technology
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth engineering team
