Job Title: Risk & Compliance Officer

Job Description: As a Risk and Compliance Officer at a globally established crypto payments fintech in the UAE, you will apply minimum 5 years of compliance and risk management experience — with at least 2 years in a virtual assets, fintech, or payments environment — to build and lead the full risk and compliance function for a crypto payments company operating in the UAE’s regulated digital asset environment.

Responsibilities:

• Apply minimum 5 years of compliance and risk management experience — at least 2 years in virtual assets, fintech, or payments
• Build and lead the full risk and compliance function for a crypto payments company in the UAE
• Develop and maintain compliance frameworks, AML policies, and risk management procedures for VARA-regulated operations
• Manage AML/CFT, KYC, transaction monitoring, blockchain analytics, and sanctions compliance operations
• Engage with VARA, DFSA, and applicable UAE regulators on compliance and licensing matters
• Encourage creativity and experimentation while ensuring institutional-grade compliance execution
• Conduct compliance monitoring and testing — reporting to senior management and Board governance
• Provide strategic compliance advisory to Product, Technology, and Commercial teams

Qualifications Needed:

• Minimum 5 years of compliance and risk management experience — at least 2 years in virtual assets, fintech, or payments — required
• Proven Risk and Compliance Officer experience in crypto payments or virtual asset fintech environments
• Deep knowledge of VARA, UAE AML/CFT, and blockchain financial crime compliance frameworks
• Strong risk management, compliance programme development, and regulatory engagement skills
• CAMS or equivalent compliance qualification required
• UAE virtual asset or crypto fintech compliance experience strongly preferred
