Job Title: Risk & Compliance Officer

Job Description: As a Risk and Compliance Officer at a regulated virtual assets and fintech company in Dubai, you will be responsible for leading the regulatory, AML, and risk management operations — ensuring minimum 5 years of compliance and risk management experience is applied to a virtual assets, fintech, or payments environment. You will build and maintain a robust compliance programme covering AML/CFT, VARA regulations, and operational risk management for a regulated digital asset platform.

Responsibilities:

• Lead regulatory, AML, and risk management operations for a regulated virtual assets and fintech company
• Develop and implement AML/CFT policies, procedures, and controls aligned with VARA regulations and UAE requirements
• Manage the ongoing compliance programme — KYC, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and STR filing
• Conduct risk assessments across the virtual asset and fintech platform — identifying and mitigating compliance risks
• Engage with VARA and applicable UAE regulators on compliance matters and supervisory engagements
• Build and maintain operational risk frameworks appropriate for a regulated digital asset company
• Lead compliance monitoring and testing — producing reports for senior management and governance review
• Build and develop the compliance team as the virtual asset platform scales

Qualifications Needed:

• Minimum 5 years of compliance and/or risk management experience — with at least 2 years in a virtual assets, fintech, or payments environment
• Deep knowledge of VARA regulations and UAE virtual asset compliance requirements
• Proven AML/CFT programme management experience for a VASP or regulated fintech entity
• Strong leadership, regulatory engagement, and compliance team development skills
• CAMS or equivalent AML qualification required
• Experience managing operational risk in a virtual assets or digital payments environment
