Job Title: HR Officer (Human Resources & Governance)

Job Description: The HR & Governance Officer ensures accurate HR recordkeeping, clear role definitions, controlled onboarding/offboarding processes, and proper tracking of training, attestations, and staff governance requirements in line with regulatory expectations.. The role supports the company’s people governance framework under VARA regulatory expectations — ensuring fit and proper documentation, staff records, onboarding/offboarding control, and training administration.

Responsibilities:*

  • Support recruitment and onboarding administration, including documentation, references, and pre-employment checks
  • Maintain accurate staff records, including employment files, training records, and declarations
  • Coordinate fit and proper documentation (CVs, references, background checks, qualifications)
  • Maintain job descriptions, organisational charts, and reporting lines to support role clarity and segregation of duties
  • Track mandatory training and staff attestations (compliance, AML/CFT, conduct, information security)
  • Manage joiner, mover, and leaver processes including access updates and documentation
  • Support staff conduct declarations, conflicts of interest, and policy attestations
  • Maintain HR governance trackers and support reporting for management and Board updates
  • Support audits, regulatory inspections, and licence reviews with accurate HR documentation
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive employee information

Qualifications Needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, Psychology, or related field
  • Professional HR or governance qualification preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in HR operations, governance administration, or employee records management
  • Experience in financial services, fintech, or regulated environments preferred
  • Good understanding of HR recordkeeping, training administration, and governance processes
  • Familiarity with VARA regulatory requirements is a strong advantage
