Job Title: Credit Risk Data Specialist
Job Description:The Credit Risk Data Specialist will develop portfolio monitoring reports, design data-driven credit strategies, conduct A/B testing, build automated data pipelines, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure risk data integrity.
Responsibilities:*
- Develop portfolio monitoring reports for internal and external communications
- Design and optimize data-driven credit strategies, including underwriting criteria, credit limit assignments, risk-based pricing, and merchant risk strategy
- Conduct deep-dive analysis on risk exposure versus profitability to identify expansion or de-risking opportunities
- Develop and track Early Warning Indicators to detect abnormal risk trends and macroeconomic shifts
- Conduct rigorous A/B testing to evaluate the impact of strategy changes on portfolio profitability and delinquency
- Assess business operations and market trends to enhance competitive positioning
- Build and optimize automated data pipelines to enhance efficiency and scalability of risk monitoring
- Perform continuous system analysis to identify data inconsistencies and drive data governance improvements
- Partner with Data Science, Data, Finance, Product, and Technology teams to ensure credit risk data is correctly represented in reporting
Qualifications Needed:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Math, Quantitative Finance, or a related quantitative field
- 3+ years of post-qualification experience in analytics and/or credit risk
- Strong analytical skills and experience in data management
- Prior experience in Retail/SME Banking, Fintech, or Credit Ratings is a plus
- Familiarity with the end-to-end credit life cycle (anti-fraud, collections, merchant health, post-loan management)
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel (Advanced/VBA), PowerPoint, Tableau; Python is optional but valued
- Exceptional attention to detail with ability to identify data anomalies quickly
- Effective communication skills for presenting technical insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive actionable insights
