Job Title: Compliance Officer & MLRO

Job Description: As a Compliance Officer and MLRO for a mission-driven fintech on a mission to move money as freely as data — unrestricted by time zones, banking hours, or legacy systems — you will be the sole person responsible for the compliance function in the UAE. You will apply proven experience serving as MLRO or in a senior AML compliance role at a UAE-regulated virtual asset or payment entity to lead the full compliance function independently.

Responsibilities:

• Be the sole person responsible for the compliance function in the UAE for a mission-driven payments fintech
• Apply proven experience as MLRO or in a senior AML compliance role at a UAE-regulated virtual asset or payment entity
• Lead AML/CFT programme — KYC, CDD, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and STR/SAR filing
• Manage regulatory relationships with applicable UAE financial regulators — CBUAE and applicable licensing bodies
• Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and frameworks for the UAE regulated entity
• Ensure compliance with UAE payment regulatory requirements and international AML/CFT standards
• Conduct compliance monitoring and testing — reporting to Board and senior leadership
• Build compliance culture and awareness across the UAE operations team

Qualifications Needed:

• Proven experience serving as MLRO or in a senior AML compliance role at a UAE-regulated virtual asset or payment entity
• 5+ years of compliance experience in the region in financial services — required
• Deep knowledge of UAE payment regulatory requirements and AML/CFT frameworks for payment entities
• Ability to operate independently as the sole compliance function in a regulated UAE entity
• CAMS or equivalent compliance certification required
