Job Title: VP / Head MLRO – AML & Sanctions

Job Description: As a Vice President and Head MLRO for AML and Sanctions at a banking or financial services firm in Dubai, you will lead the design and execution of the firm’s AML and Sanctions compliance programme — advising senior management on financial crime risks, controls, and compliance issues at the most senior compliance level. You will apply significant AML and Sanctions leadership experience to protect the firm and its clients across a regulated banking or fintech environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and execution of the firm’s AML and Sanctions compliance programme at VP level
• Advise senior management and the Board on financial crime risks, controls, and compliance issues
• Act as the designated MLRO — managing all AML/CFT and Sanctions obligations for the regulated entity
• Oversee AML/CFT programme including transaction monitoring, KYC/EDD, sanctions screening, and STR/SAR processes
• Manage regulatory relationships with UAE financial regulators including CBUAE, DFSA, or applicable authorities
• Build and lead the AML and Sanctions compliance team
• Lead compliance monitoring and testing for financial crime controls
• Drive financial crime risk culture across all business functions

Qualifications Needed:

• Significant AML and Sanctions compliance leadership experience with VP or Head-level MLRO designation
• 7–10 years of experience in AML/CFT, financial crime compliance, or related roles within banking or fintech
• Deep knowledge of UAE AML/CFT regulations and sanctions compliance frameworks
• Proven experience advising senior management and Board on financial crime risk matters
• Strong leadership and team development skills
• CAMS, ICA, or equivalent compliance qualification required
