Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel

Job Description: The Senior Legal Counsel will provide comprehensive legal support across commercial agreements, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and operational legal matters — serving as the primary legal partner for the Middle East business.

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal support for CMC Markets’ operations within DIFC, ensuring compliance with DFSA regulations and applicable UAE laws
• Advise on UAE-specific legal and regulatory matters including financial services regulation, licensing, and market conduct
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including client agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and ancillary documentation
• Manage external legal counsel relationships and coordinate legal matters requiring specialist external input
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks arising from business activities
• Support the compliance function on regulatory developments, rule changes, and regulatory engagement with the DFSA
• Advise on marketing materials, product documentation, and client communications to ensure regulatory compliance
• Provide legal input on new product launches, business initiatives, and strategic projects in the Middle East

Qualifications Needed:

• Qualified solicitor or equivalent with at least 6 years of post-qualification experience
• Strong knowledge of the DFSA regulatory framework and DIFC laws
• Experience advising on financial services regulation in the UAE and/or broader GCC
• Prior in-house or private practice experience within financial services, fintech, or capital markets
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to operate independently and advise senior business stakeholders
