Job Title: Senior Back-End Software Engineer – Maritime / FinTech Data Platform

Job Description: As a Senior Back-End Software Engineer for a maritime and financial technology data platform, you will mentor teammates and help define engineering standards for AI and fintech development — applying 10+ years of engineering experience, including significant backend expertise, to build robust, scalable data and technology infrastructure for a globally operating maritime and financial data platform.

Responsibilities:

• Mentor teammates and help define engineering standards for AI and fintech data platform development
• Design and build robust, scalable back-end systems for a maritime and financial technology data platform
• Apply 10+ years of engineering experience to architecture decisions, code quality, and platform performance
• Build and maintain APIs, data pipelines, and backend infrastructure supporting financial data and maritime operations
• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams on platform feature delivery and technical strategy
• Conduct code reviews and technical design sessions — setting backend engineering standards for the platform
• Implement AI-powered features and data engineering solutions for the maritime and financial data platform
• A master’s degree is a plus, especially in fields related to software engineering or data science

Qualifications Needed:

• Significant senior backend engineering experience with strong track record mentoring developers and defining standards
• 10+ years of engineering experience including significant backend engineering leadership preferred
• Expertise in backend languages and frameworks for scalable, production-grade data platform development
• Experience with AI integration, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure for financial or data-intensive platforms
• Masters degree in Software Engineering or Data Science is a plus
• Strong technical leadership, documentation, and engineering culture contribution skills
