Job Title: Product Engineer II — Backend

Job Description: The Product Engineer II – Backend will build cutting-edge platforms that enable seamless and scalable transactions. The role requires collaboration across engineering, product, business, and operations teams to solve user pain points and revolutionize how millions of users shop, pay, and bank.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Tamara’s engineering teams
• Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
• Work with engineers across the company to build features that span various parts of the system
• Collaborate with business, product, and operations teams to understand and solve user pain points
• Leverage system design to create scalable technical solutions for complex problems
• Contribute to the secure and robust software infrastructure underpinning Tamara’s super-app

Qualifications Needed:

• 4+ years of software development experience
• Strong experience building scalable products and services
• Good understanding of SOLID principles and Design Patterns
• Knowledge of AWS, OCI, Kubernetes/Docker
• Experience with distributed systems using messaging tools like Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Knowledge of JavaScript, Vue.js, HTML and CSS is a plus
• Experience as a developer in a startup company is a plus
• Good written and spoken communication skills in English
