Job Title: Senior Software Engineer – Android

Job Description: The Senior Android Engineer will own key parts of Tamara’s Android application — building high-quality, performant, and accessible features that serve a predominantly Arabic-speaking audience across Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Kuwait.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain high-quality Android application features for Tamara’s consumer-facing app
  • Contribute to the architecture and technical direction of the Android codebase
  • Build features for BNPL checkout flows, payment management, transaction history, and financial services discovery
  • Ensure Tamara’s Android app delivers excellent performance, accessibility, and reliability for millions of users
  • Write well-tested code and participate actively in code reviews and technical design discussions
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, and QA teams to deliver features end-to-end
  • Optimize app performance — improving loading times, memory usage, and battery efficiency
  • Stay current on Android development best practices, platform updates, and modern architecture patterns

Qualifications Needed:

  • 5+ years of Android software engineering experience in production consumer applications
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android SDK
  • Experience with modern Android architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture) and Jetpack components
  • Experience with REST API integration, offline-first patterns, and mobile performance optimization
  • Understanding of Arabic-language mobile UX considerations is preferred
  • Fintech, payments, or e-commerce mobile app experience is a strong advantage
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to Riyadh
