Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

Job Description: The Senior Data Engineer will design and build high-quality, scalable data pipelines — ensuring data reliability, quality, and accessibility across analytics, risk, product, and business intelligence use cases.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows that power Tamara’s analytics and ML infrastructure
• Own data platform components across ingestion, storage, transformation, and serving layers
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and consistency across critical data products
• Partner with Data Science, Analytics, Product, and Engineering teams to understand data requirements and deliver robust data infrastructure
• Build and maintain observability frameworks for data pipelines — monitoring data freshness, completeness, and quality
• Contribute to data platform architecture decisions including data warehouse design, partitioning strategies, and tooling selection
• Drive data governance improvements including schema management, documentation, and data lineage
• Mentor junior data engineers and contribute to the team’s engineering practices and standards

Qualifications Needed:

• 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer in a high-growth fintech, technology, or data-intensive company
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, or similar)
• Experience with cloud data platforms (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or equivalent) and cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Familiarity with dbt (data build tool) and modern data stack approaches
• Strong understanding of data modeling, partitioning strategies, and query optimization
• Experience working with large-scale financial data sets is preferred
