Job Title: Internal Audit Lead – Financial Crime

Job Description: As a senior Internal Audit Lead – Financial Crime, you will lead independent audits and forensic reviews across AML, CTF, sanctions, fraud prevention, CDD, KYC, KYB, regulatory change, compliance monitoring, and policy governance, using investigative and analytical methods to strengthen a regulated fintech’s control environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end audits across AML, CTF, sanctions, fraud, CDD, KYC, and KYB processes
• Plan and execute risk-based reviews covering first- and second-line controls
• Evaluate financial-crime frameworks against CBUAE requirements and international practices
• Assess regulatory horizon scanning, change management, compliance monitoring, policy governance, and reporting
• Conduct thematic reviews of transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and customer-risk profiling
• Lead or support forensic investigations into suspected financial crime, fraud, or control breaches
• Analyze complex datasets to identify suspicious patterns, anomalies, and control weaknesses
• Report audit conclusions and practical remediation actions to senior management and stakeholders

Qualifications Needed:

• Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law, or a related field; an advanced degree is advantageous
• Seven or more years of experience in internal audit, financial-crime compliance, or forensic investigations
• Strong knowledge of AML/CFT, sanctions, fraud-risk management, and CBUAE compliance requirements
• Experience auditing governance, policies, regulatory reporting, and financial-crime programmes
• Advanced analytics capability using SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools
• CAMS, CFE, CFF, CIA, or CISA certification is strongly preferred; English fluency is mandatory
