Job Title: Head of Risk – Consumer Lending / BNPL

Job Description: As Head of Risk for a consumer lending and BNPL fintech, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end risk function — setting credit risk strategy, managing portfolio quality, and implementing risk frameworks that support responsible growth of a UAE-licensed consumer lending platform. You will build and lead the risk team as the platform scales its BNPL and consumer credit products across UAE and KSA.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end risk function for a UAE-licensed BNPL and consumer lending platform
• Set credit risk strategy, manage portfolio quality, and implement risk frameworks for responsible consumer credit growth
• Develop and maintain credit underwriting models, fraud prevention frameworks, and operational risk controls
• Monitor portfolio performance — delinquency, default, and loss trends — producing regular risk reporting for leadership
• Build and lead the risk team — recruiting, coaching, and developing risk management capability
• Partner with Product, Technology, and Finance teams on risk-by-design for new BNPL and consumer credit product features
• Engage with CBUAE and applicable regulators on credit risk oversight and consumer protection compliance
• Support IFRS 9 ECL provisioning and regulatory capital reporting as required

Qualifications Needed:

• Significant Head of Risk or senior credit risk leadership experience within BNPL, consumer lending, or fintech
• Proven track record building credit risk frameworks and managing portfolio quality for consumer credit platforms
• Deep understanding of UAE consumer credit risk, CBUAE regulatory requirements, and BNPL risk management
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills for credit risk model development and portfolio monitoring
• Excellent leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and executive communication skills
• FRM, CFA, or equivalent risk management qualification preferred
