Job Title: Head of Compliance & MLRO
Job Description: As a Head of Compliance & MLRO (m/f/d), you will hold senior accountability for the AML and regulatory-compliance framework of a UAE payments business, managing regulatory submissions, financial-crime controls, suspicious-activity decisions, board reporting, and collaboration across product, technology, legal, and operations teams.
Responsibilities:
- Manage regulatory submissions and engagement with UAE financial-intelligence and supervisory authorities
- Oversee goAML reporting and the governance of suspicious-transaction and suspicious-activity submissions
- Design and operationalize AML and CFT controls aligned with UAE and applicable financial-centre requirements
- Set and review transaction-monitoring, name-screening, and sanctions-screening rules
- Lead control tuning, quality assurance, case escalation, and financial-crime decision-making
- Maintain case governance and act as the senior point of contact during regulatory reviews
- Deliver AML training, compliance governance, management information, and board-level reporting
- Work with product, technology, legal, and operations teams to embed compliance into payments processes
Qualifications Needed:
- Direct experience with UAE regulatory expectations, financial-intelligence reporting, and goAML is required
- Current or recent experience as an MLRO or senior AML leader within a UAE-licensed payments, fintech, or financial institution
- Demonstrated experience building or scaling an AML framework in an early-stage or high-growth organization
- Strong financial-crime judgement covering customer exits, product risk, investigations, and regulatory examinations
- Knowledge of payments typologies, cross-border activity, trust and corporate-service providers, and free-zone risks
- ACAMS or an equivalent financial-crime qualification is preferred
